FLUX is a trends analysis company launched by Dion Chang. The company’s by-line – The State We’re In - says it all. At Flux we believe that there is way too much information flung at us in the 21st century and we are unable to digest it all. As a result, we edit out information that is not within our immediate scope of interest - not as a matter of choice, but as a coping mechanism. However, in today’s world, what binds the social fabric is complex. Information we edit out (and don’t believe is relevant), is becoming increasingly interconnected, so we inadvertently begin to place blinkers on our perspectives. As a result, the information we rely on is incomplete, our social interactions are affected, the generation gap widens and we start missing out on crucial business opportunities. Too much information is becoming a very real problem. Flux distills the barrage of information that is hurled at us in the 21st century. We identify and analyze macro trends (everything from politics, religion, youth culture, media, entertainment and technology) that affect social dynamics and therefore our business interactions, and then package this information into digestible chunks, allowing small or corporate businesses to re-assess the business and social landscape and formulate new, forward thinking, marketing or business strategies.
